Breakfast. Guided tour of Lexington & Concord. Explore historic Deerfield, MA. Yankee Candle Flagship Store. Scenic travel through the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts. Arrive at the upscale Orchards Hotel set along the Mohawk Trail, Williamstown, MA for two nights. Dinner at hotel.
Day 3
Breakfast. Norman Rockwell Museum & Studio, Stockbridge, MA. Free time in charming Stockbridge. Tour author Edith Wharton’s dignified country estate & gardens, The Mount, Lenox, MA. Dinner at hotel.
Day 4
Breakfast. Bennington Battle Monument, Bennington, Vermont. Scenic travel through the Green Mountain National Forest.
Vermont County Store, Weston, VT. View historic downtown Woodstock, VT and see Middle Covered Bridge. Billings Farm - highlights Vermont’s Farm Heritage on this working dairy farm with Jersey cows, creamery, farmhouse & more,Woodstock, VT. Arrive at the Alpine-style Trapp Family Lodge nestled in the mountains near Stowe, VT for two nights. This lodge is owned by the original von Trapp Family made famous in the beloved movie, The Sound of Music. Dinner at lodge.
Day 5
Breakfast. Explore Shelburne Museum’s vast collection of Americana including the steamboat, Ticonderoga. Lake Champlain cruise on Spirit of Ethan Allen, Burlington, VT. Dinner at the von Trapp Bierhall.
Day 6
Breakfast. History Tour of the Trapp Lodge provided by a member of the von Trapp Family. Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory with tour & tasting. Drive by Vermont Capitol Building. Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks. Arrive at the grand Mt. Washington Hotel in the White Mountains near Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, two nights. Built in 1902 this luxury resort has been a favorite retreat for presidents, poets and celebrities. Dine in elegance at hotel.
Day 7
Breakfast. Free day to enjoy the resort amenities. Optional attraction: Mount Washington Cog Railway. Dine in elegance at hotel.
Day 8
Breakfast. Scenic travel through White Mountain National Forest, NH. Lunch and shopping in seacoast village of Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Atlantic Coast Boat Cruise. Arrive at Spruce Point Inn at Boothbay Harbor, for one night. This is exactly what most guest’s picture when they think of an oceanside resort in Maine. This historic inn is the perfect setting for creating “oceanside memories made in Maine.” Dinner at inn.
Day 9
Breakfast. Visit Portland Headlight, Cape Elizabeth, ME. Flight to Chicago.
