Day 1

Regularly scheduled flight from Chicago to Philadelphia. Arrive at the Wyndham Historic District ideally located in Philadelphia’s Independence Park, for three nights. Dinner at hotel. View city lights from high atop the new 1 Liberty Place.

Day 2

Full breakfast at hotel. Begin the day with a guided tour of Philadelphia’s historic district including the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Betsy Ross Home, Congress Hall & Christ Church. Free time at the Bourse. Resume the tour including the Philadelphia Art Museum (the Rocky Steps), Benjamin Franklin Parkway, and the charming 18th century Society Hill. Dinner at Historic City Tavern.

Day 3

Full breakfast at hotel. Relive the epic story of George Washington and his fellow soldiers’ struggle for survival during the Encampment at Valley Forge on a guided tour. Lunch at the Black Powder Tavern, a former secret storage building of rebel ammunitions during the Revolutionary War. Stroll the floral beauty of Longwood Gardens.

Day 4

Full breakfast at hotel. Get a taste of Hershey with the Chocolate Town Guided Tour. Visit Founders Hall & Chocolate World. Arrive at lovely Hotel Best Western Intercourse, PA. Enjoy dinner and a professional performance of “Will Roger’s Follies” at Dutch Apple Theatre.

Day 5

Full breakfast at hotel. Guided tour of Amish countryside near Lancaster. Enjoy free time at Kitchen Kettle Village. Tour Lititz Town with historic buildings that date back to 1756 all stunningly restored creating a cultural melting pot of country charm. Stops at the Amish Quilt Shop & Wilbur Chocolate Store. Amish Dinner in a Amish farm home.

Day 6

Full breakfast at hotel. View fall foliage on scenic drive to Gettysburg, PA. Gettysburg Cyclorama - a painting depicting famous “Pickett’s Charge.” Explore Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center. Guided tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield. Arrive at lovely Wyndham Hotel. Dinner at historic Dobbin’s Tavern followed by U.S. Grant impersonator.

Day 7

Full breakfast at hotel. Tour Eisenhower National Historic Site, home and farm of General & President Eisenhower. Scenic mountainous fall foliage. Visit Flight 93 National 9/11. Memorial in Shanksville. Arrive at Hampton Inn, Somerset, PA. Dinner in area.

Day 8

Full breakfast at hotel. Visit Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpiece home - Fallingwater - in a lush forest landscape. Flight Pittsburgh to Chicago.
