Day 1

Flight to New Orleans. Arrive at Hotel Monteleone, located in the heart of the French Quarter for a 4-night stay. Take a mule-drawn Carriage Tour of the French Quarter. Treat your taste buds to dinner in the French Quarter.

Day 2

Breakfast. Morning guided tour of New Orleans which includes the central business district, Jackson Square, above ground cemeteries, warehouse district, Bayou St. John, Garden District and the famous French Quarter architecture & more! Dinner and jazz entertainment on the S.S. Natchez — an authentic sternwheeler cruising the Mississippi River.

Day 3

Breakfast. Behind the scenes tour at Blaine Kern Studios Mardi Gras World. Learn how Mardi Gras floats are made, walk among towering figures of fantasy, marvel at the skill and technology that animate mega-floats and acquire an insider’s appreciation of the history and traditions of Carnival. Honey Island Swamp Tour — narrated cruise to see cypress, gators & more! Dinner at famous Court of Two Sisters.

Day 4

For breakfast today, enjoy a New Orleans tradition, café au lait & beignets at famous Café du Monde. Welcome to the fun, food and folklore of the New Orleans School of Cooking. Enjoy lunch and a demonstration by Creole & Cajun experts who will teach New Orleans specialties & season them with history, tall tales and trivia. Take home the recipes! Guided tour of the historic Houmas House Sugar Plantation.

Day 5

Breakfast. Visit the World War II National Museum located in New Orleans. Flight home.

American Classic Tours is based out of Chicago. Because many of our travelers are from the greater Chicagoland area, all our air tours begin at one of Chicago’s airports. If you are from out of state or country, you can join us via a “land-only” tour package. A “land-only” tour is the exact same as our “all-inclusive” tour except it does not include airfare, airline luggage and airport transportation.
