Up, up and away! Witness a spectacular display of hot air balloons ascending into the clear blue autumn skies of New Mexico during the annual Balloon Fiesta. This southwestern getaway features the historic cities of Albuquerque and Santa Fe and the beautiful scenery of mountains and valleys which surround them. From green mountain forests to deep, rugged canyons to colossal mesas, the topography of New Mexico is as varied as any place in the USA.

Day 1

Flight to Albuquerque. Visit the Pueblo Indian Museum & see Indian dancers. Arrive at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya for a 4-night stay. Dinner.

Day 2

Breakfast. Visit Pecos National Historical Park. Discover hundreds of years of human habitation, such as Pecos Pueblo and the Spanish Mission Church. The Santa Fe Trail came through the park, as did the original path of Route 66. The Civil War brought the Battle of Glorieta Pass here, where Confederate ambitions for the Southwest stopped. Visit Loretto Chapel, home of the miraculous staircase with two 360 degree turns & no visible means of support. Guided tour of Santa Fe – America’s old state capital. Dinner in Santa Fe.

Day 3

Rise and shine and enjoy the Chasers Club at the Balloon Fiesta Grounds. Breakfast and open-air seating here. Then, take in a spectacular display of sound and color as you watch the Hot Air Balloon Mass Ascension led by a balloon flying the American flag to the strains of “The Star Spangled Banner.” Guided tour of Albuquerque. Tram ride to the summit of Sandia Peak. Dinner.

Day 4

Breakfast. Tour Acoma Pueblo— one of New Mexico’s most dramatic landmarks sitting atop a 376-foot mesa overlooking the desert. Box lunch included. Return to the Balloon Fiesta grounds and be a VIP at the Gondola Club for dinner & cocktails included. Balloons aren’t just for daytime anymore. Tonight watch the special shaped “glowdeo” balloons light up the sky followed by the After Glow Fireworks Display.

Day 5

Breakfast. Flight home.
