2. Holland Tulip Festival
Tip toe through the tulips with us next spring! The Tulip Time Festival is an annual event in Holland, Michigan – the center of Dutch culture in America. From reserved seats see the Muziekparade featuring street scrubbers in Dutch costumes & wooden shoes, floats and bands. Enjoy a guided tour of Holland with its tulip-lined streets and authentic windmill. Marvel at the sight of acres and acres of blooming tulips at Veldheer Tulip Gardens-tulip bulbs available for purchase here. Witness artisans carving wooden shoes and creating Delftware. 3. Mr. Lincoln's Hometown
Amidst the grand prairielands of central Illinois is a treasure-trove of important American historic sites…Springfield – Mr. Lincoln’s Hometown. Travel from Union Station in Chicago to Springfield via Amtrak. Special feature will be a visit to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. This state of the art museum will carry visitors on twin journeys from a crude Indiana cabin to Ford’s Theatre and a reproduction of the House Chamber in the Old State Capitol where Lincoln’s casket lies in state. The museum also features Lincoln artifacts, “Lincoln’s Eyes” – a screen presentation and “Ghosts of the Library” – a unique holographic theater presentation. Abe Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln impersonators will entertain at dinner. Return home via motorcoach with wonderful memories of Mr. Lincoln’s Hometown!
