Lake Michigan Blueberry Harvest

The Lake Erie Islands

August 28th - September 1st, 2017 (5 Days)

Cool off next summer as we cruise to the Bass Islands of Lake Erie on this refreshingly unique itinerary. Enjoy an open-air narrated tram tour of Put-in-Bay on South Bass Island to view the South Bass Lighthouse, Doller Museum on Island Life, Heineman Winery, Antique Car Museum, Butterfly House and Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial. This monument commemorates Commodore Perry’s victory over the British in 1813 which occurred near Put-in-Bay. Then ferry over to neighboring Kelley’s Island to see the Glacial Grooves formed 18,000 years ago and Inscription Rock’s Indian pictographs dating back to 1200 B.C. Back on the mainland, visit Marblehead Lighthouse.

 

Cranberry Harvest in Wisconsin

From the Thanksgiving feast to breads, sauces, coffees and teas, cranberries are one versatile fruit. Experience the annual autumn harvest of one of America’s native berries – the cranberry. See cranberry marshes ablaze in shades of scarlet with colorful fall foliage all around.
