The town of Holland sits quietly on Lake Macatawa in western Michigan. Like any other Midwestern town, the residents of Holland work normal jobs, the children go to school 5 days a week and the community lives comfortably in routine for 51 out of 52 weeks each year. But every year, in the second week of May, the town of Holland explodes as it welcomes thousands of visitors from across the world.
So what brings people to Holland every May? The answer is simple: Holland is home to one of the most extravagant flower festivals in the world.
Every spring over 5 million tulips blossom across Holland. These tulips are not confined to gardens or fairgrounds on the edge of town; rather, they are interspersed throughout the entire town. The endless rows of tulips shine in every color imaginable.
While the tulips are a spectacle in and of themselves, the Holland Tulip Festival is about more than just flowers. Our friends at Tulip Time do a wonderful job of supplementing your "flowerful" experience with world-class parades and top-notch entertainment.
Parades
Tens of thousands of spectators line the streets of Holland to experience the festival's final and most popular parade--the GMB Muzikeparade. Featuring live music and 4,000 participants, the GMB Muziekparade is a one-of-a-kind event.
Shows
Last year the Holland Tulip Festival welcomed Comedy Awards winner & Grammy nominee Bill Engvall. Tulip Time will be announcing the headliner for 2017 soon - before the end of November.
The New Odyssey Dinner Show is a Holland Tulip Festival favorite. Chef Randy Taylor kicks off the night with a gourmet dinner which is followed by an electric musical performance. Over the course of the show a 3-man band plays over 30 instruments!
