Day 1
Lunch in Saugatuck, Michigan. Travel to Traverse City, Michigan & enjoy fine dining at Harrington’s by the Bay. Lodging in Traverse City for a 1-night stay.
Day 2
Breakfast. Guided tour of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Discover the lakeshore’s variety of landforms such as sand dune deserts, hardwood forests, cedar swamps & bogs of sphagnum moss and gigantic dunes overlooking Lake Michigan. Free time in Traverse City. Board a Shepler’s Ferry to Mackinac Island with views of the Mackinac Bridge. Step back into the 19th century where transportation is limited to horse & buggy, bicycle or foot. The Victorian atmosphere will enchant you from the moment you step off the dock. Horse drawn carriages will transport you to the world famous Grand Hotel where we will check in for a 3-night stay. Dinner at the Grand Hotel.
Day 3
Breakfast at the Grand Hotel. Discover the island on a narrated Island Carriage Tour. Free time to get acquainted with Mackinac Island with a visit to Main Street or sign up and discover the beautiful Grand Hotel on one of the optional specialty tours (fee may apply). Dinner at the Grand Hotel.
Day 4
Breakfast at the Grand Hotel. Free time to visit shops & sights of Mackinac Island. Enjoy activities of the Lilac Festival: listen to fife & drum quartets, see decorated storefronts, & enjoy the charming, afternoon Lilac Festival Parade from your complimentary canvas chair. Dinner at the Grand Hotel.
Day 5
Breakfast at the Grand Hotel. Return to the mainland aboard Shepler’s Ferry. Scenic travel through Michigan. Arrive at the Drury Inn & Suites Grand Rapids for a 1-night stay. Dinner in Grand Rapids.
Day 6
Breakfast. Visit the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids. Narrated tram tour of Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids with free time to explore the exhibits and gift shop. Lunch at Taste of the Gardens Cafe at the gardens. Return home.
