Day 1

Flight to Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. Visit the George W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum in Dallas. Arrive at Hilton Fort Worth Hotel for a 2 night stay. Experience ‘a moment in time, place in history’ at this landmark hotel, the scene of President John F. Kennedy’s final address on the morning of November 22, 1963. A photo display of JFK’s visit and a memorial are located at this hotel which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Dinner.

Day 2

Breakfast. Guided tour of Dallas. Explore The Sixth Floor Museum and the grassy knoll at Dealey Plaza, Dallas. This museum chronicles the assassination and legacy of President John F. Kennedy. For a taste of the American West, enjoy free time in the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District where weathered brick streets are lined with historic buildings, restaurants, and saloons. Witness real Texas cowhands drive a herd of Texas longhorns.

Day 3

Breakfast. Visit Magnolia Market at the Silos, Waco, creation of Chip and Joanna Gaines of HGTV’s Fixer Upper show. Stroll the grounds to shop including their new bakery. Discover the LBJ Presidential Library & Museum in Austin. Arrive at Holiday Inn River Walk, San Antonio for a 2-night stay. Dinner.

Day 4

Breakfast. Guided tour of historic San Antonio. Visit San Jose Mission (1782), designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. View the IMAX presentation:“Alamo…Price of Freedom.” Visit The Alamo where the memory of the battle served as a rallying cry in the fight for Texas’s independence from Mexico. Free evening to enjoy the lush foliage, outdoor cafes, bridges & shops of the famous River Walk. Relax on a narrated River Cruise along the River Walk.

Day 5

Breakfast. Explore NASA’s Johnson Space Center, Houston, on a narrated tram tour. See the artifacts, exhibits, attractions and theaters relating to America’s human spaceflight program. Arrive at J W Marriott Hotel at the Galleria, Houston for a 2 night stay. Dinner.

Day 6

Breakfast. Discover the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum in College Station with a visit to the gravesites of George H. W. and Barbara Bush. Dinner.

Day 7

Breakfast. Flight to Chicago.

American Classic Tours is based out of Chicago. Because many of our travelers are from the greater Chicagoland Area, all of our tours begin at one of Chicago’s airports. If you are from out of state or country, you can join us via a “land-only” tour package. A “land-only” tour is the exact same as our “all-inclusive” tour except it does not include airfare. Your tour director will meet you at your destination and lead you to meet the rest of the group on the first day of the tour.
