Day 1 - FLIGHT

Flight to Amsterdam, Netherlands.

DAY 2 - AMSTERDAM

Arrive at hotel in Amsterdam for 2-night stay. Evening at leisure.

Day 3 - Amsterdam

Walking tour of Amsterdam with its iconic meandering canals, bridges and distinctive architecture. (B)

Day 4 - CRUISE BEGINS – EMBARKATION IN AMSTERDAM

Visit Zaanse Schans. Authentic windmills and houses were relocated to this picturesque area, creating a typical 17th- to 18th-century village. Embark ship to begin your Captivating Rhine Cruise. (B, D)

Day 5 - Amsterdam

Enjoy an Amsterdam canal cruise before setting sail out of the city. (B, L, D)

Day 6 - Cologne, Germany

Guided tour of Old Town Cologne. Explore Cologne Cathedral, one of Germany’s most revered Gothic masterpieces. Continue to Cologne Rathaus, Germany’s oldest town hall. Visit a local tavern for a taste of the city’s famous Kolsch Beer and reibekuchen mit apfelmus, potato pancakes served with applesauce. (B, L, D)

Day 7 - RHINE GORGE – RÜDESHEIM, GERMANY

Cruise the stunningly beautiful Rhine Gorge to the winemaking town of Rüdesheim. Savor a wine tasting from the town’s iconic vineyards or soar high above via the Niederwalddenkmal gondola ride. Visit Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum and its collection of self-playing musical instruments or taste the town’s special delight, Rüdesheimer coffee, ceremoniously made with brandy, coffee and whipped cream. Day 8 - LUDWIGSHAFEN, GERMANY

Visit Heidelberg, a perfectly preserved medieval city nestled in the Neckar River Valley. Discover the iconic red sandstone Heidelberg Castle and Great Vat, an 18th-century, 49,000-gallon wine cask, or visit Speyer and the largest Romanesque cathedral in Europe and the medieval Old Gate, Altpörtel. Day 9 - STRASBOURG, FRANCE

Strasbourg offers flavors of both France and Germany because of its borderline location. Panoramic tour past the Parc de l’Orangerie, European Parliament, Place de la République, and Cathédrale de Nôtre Dame with its famous astronomical clock. Stroll Strasbourg’s iconic “La Petite France” district, lifted straight from the pages of a fairytale. (B, L, D)

Day 10 - breisach, germany

Step back in time while in the enchanting 16th century Alsatian town of Riquewihr and its famous Dolder Gate, or visit Freiburg, founded in 1120, and home to the Freiburg’s Münster, a Gothic cathedral with “the most beautiful spire on earth.” (B, L, D)

Day 11 - CRUISE ENDS - DISEMBARKATION IN BASEL, SWITZERLAND

Disembark ship followed by a guided tour of Basel. Arrive in Lucerne for a walking tour to discover this pristine city. Arrive at hotel in Lucerne for a 2-night stay. (B)

Day 12 - Lucerne, Switzerland

See iconic Lion Monument, sculpted in memory of Swiss Guards massacred during the French Revolution. See spectacular medieval walls and towers, dating back to the 13th century. (B)

Day 13 - Lucerne — Zurich, switzerland

Depart Lucerne and travel to Zurich. Scenic lake cruise. Arrive at hotel in Zurich for a 2-night stay. (B)

Day 14 - Zurich

Guided tour of Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city, and visit Old Town, known for its medieval houses, churches and the modern Bahnhofstrasse. (B)
