Flight to Phoenix
JD, Joe, Kirsten, and Sheila met travelers curbside at O'Hare Airport and helped everyone with their luggage and boarding passes at our private, American Classic Tours group check-in.
Free Cocktails & Snacks At the Embassy Suites
After a flight to Phoenix, we were able to unwind after a full day of travel with free snacks and cocktails at the Embassy Suites Tempe Manager's Reception. The Manager's Reception was offered every night of our tour!
Guided Tour of Phoenix & Scottsdale
Our local guide Jill took us on a guided tour of the Phoenix area. We saw Paradise Valley, Old Town Scottsdale, Downtown Phoenix, and more!
Cubs vs Diamondbacks at Salt River Fields
A great American tradition - take me out to the ball game for the 7th inning stretch.
Dinner at Rustler's Rooste
At Rustler's Rooste we enjoyed a country-style dinner featuring Sirloin Steak, BBQ Chicken, and Grilled Salmon along with a mixed greens salad, Arizona style cowboy beans, corn on the cobb, seasonal vegetables, baked potatoes, and biscuits. Beer and wine were included with our meal. We had ice cream and cotton candy for dessert.
Musical Instrument Museum
We started our day with a visit to the Musical Instrument Museum in North Scottsdale. This state-of-the-art museum is home to over 12,000 musical instruments from every country in the world! Below is a video that takes you inside this one-of-a-kind museum.
Cubs vs Rockies at Salt River Fields
Cubs stars Addison Russell, Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant stand for the pregame National Anthem.
Desert Botanical Gardens
At the Desert Botanical Gardens we learned about Arizona's unique flora.
Cubs vs Rockies at Sloan Park
When we entered Sloan Park (the Cubs Spring Training home field), it felt like we were back in Wrigleyville. While Sloan Park is much younger and smaller than Wrigley Field, it has many similarities, most notably, the red HOME OF THE CHICAGO CUBS sign.
Arizona Opry Dinner Show
The Opry cast performed a variety of music including country, rock and roll, blues, boogie woogie, big band, and even classical. This was a stellar dinner show with phenomenal music, a lot of variety, and great food!
Dolly Boat Cruise
Nestled in the heart of Arizona's Superstition Mountain Range, Canyon Lake is a beautiful reservoir located just outside the Phoenix metro area. We enjoyed a relaxing cruise aboard the Dolly Steamboat as our captain told us about the region's geological history.
