Discover the magnificent scenery of northern California at Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Cross the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains. Marvel at Yosemite’s incredibly rugged landscape of deep canyons and lofty mountains including El Capitan, Glacial Point and Half Dome. Day 1

Flight to Sacramento. Step back in time to the Old West at Old Town Sacramento. Visit the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento. Arrive at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, located in the heart of downtown Sacramento next to the California State Capitol Building and the lovely World Peace Rose Garden. Dinner.

Day 2

Breakfast. Guided Tour of California State Capitol building and gardens. Scenic travel to Yosemite National Park. Arrive at Yosemite area lodging for a 2-night stay. Dinner.

Day 3

Breakfast. Guided history, flora & fauna tour of Yosemite National Park featuring Half Dome, Glacial Point, Vernal Falls, High Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite Falls & Bridal Veil Falls. Box lunch. Make the most of your free time at Yosemite National Park with shuttle service to any of these attractions: Yosemite Indian Village for the Indian Cultural Center, Ansel Adams Gallery or Majestic Lodge. Explore Yosemite Valley with a ranger staffed information desk, bookstore, Spirit of Yosemite film, and exhibit hall detailing the park’s geology.

Day 4

Breakfast. Visit Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias in Yosemite National Park. Box lunch. Arrive at Wuksachi Lodge in the Sequoia National Park for a 2 night stay. Dinner at lodge with a Living History Performance of stories relating to “Life Under the Big Trees.”

Day 5

Breakfast. Guided tour of Sequoia National Park with a naturalist guide featuring Giant Forest Grove & General Sherman Tree, Big Tree Trail at Round Meadow, box lunch at Wolverton Meadow and Lodgepole Visitor Center. Return to lodge with dinner.

Day 6

Breakfast. Guided tour of Kings Canyon National Park featuring General Grant Tree. Visit Grant Grove Village. Lunch & tour at Hillmar Chesese Factory. Arrive at the luxurious Westin St. Francis Hotel on Union Square for 2 nights. This hotel is a vibrant, iconic destination in San Francisco & the only hotel directly located on Union Square with cable cars stopping just outside their door.

Day 7

Breakfast. Guided tour of San Francisco with picture stop at the Golden Gate Bridge. Enjoy free time exploring Fisherman’s Wharf. Board the Blue & Gold Fleet vessel for a cruise on San Francisco Bay with incredible views & interesting narration. Dinner.

Day 8

Breakfast. Flight Home.

American Classic Tours is based out of Chicago. Because many of our travelers are from the greater Chicagoland Area, all of our tours begin at one of Chicago’s airports. If you are from out of state or country, you can join us via a “land-only” tour package. A “land-only” tour is the exact same as our “all-inclusive” tour except it does not include airfare. Your tour director will meet you at your destination and lead you to meet the rest of the group on the first day of the tour.
